New Flowers March 28

Flowers opening this week, including daffodils, japanese maples, forsythia.

This time of year things change very fast. Lots of things opened this week, including these daffodils:

This is Snowbird, a double white.

This is Precocious

This is Chromacolor

This is Salome. It opens with a yellow trumpet - later the trumpet changes to an apricot color.

This is Replete - a double with a salmon colored center.

This is the white with a double yellow center that opened last week. Notice how the center has now faded to a very pale yellow, almost white.

The japanese maples have just stated to open. The earliest in my garden is Acer palmatum "Orange Dream," which opens a beautiful color, orange with red edges.

My weeping cherry is just beginning to open its flowers, too.

The forsythia is out, too. I have two different varieties, this is the suspensa.

There are also a couple of new perennials out, too. The Bluets have appeared in the lawn.

The creeping phlox is in bloom, too. I have a couple of varieties. The pink one is the first out.
