Greetings: I am an assistant professor in the Department of Government & International Affairs at Sweet Briar College. My primary research interests include: international relations theory, the causes of conflict and war, American foreign policy, the origins of strategy (both military and diplomatic), and civil-military relations. |

I live in Charlottesville, Virginia with my wife, Kate, and two sons, Aiden and Jack. Kate is the Technical Director of the Department of Integrated System Deployment and Support (ISDS) at the University of Virginia. Previously, she was the CTO of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello). Some of her more visible projects at the Foundation include: the Monticello Explorer, the Digital Archaeological Archive of Comparative Slavery (DAACS), and the Jefferson Library. Aiden and Jack are dedicated to running their parents into the ground. Both promise friends and relatives busy days riding bikes, playing soccer, LAX, frisbee, and football. When those activities are finished, there is always fishing, frog hunting, singing, listening to the "Jazz Man Miles Davis," and, of course, reading Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. With my family, I am committed Wahoo. |
